As Men of Iron’s VP of Development, Justin Watkins raises awareness, relationship and funds to support the organization. His role is to increase the understanding of the mission, model and message of Men of Iron, while building authentic partnerships with individuals, churches and businesses.

Mentorship has been a significant part of Justin’s walk with the Lord, as several mentors throughout his own life demonstrated Christ-like love and truth to him. “From high school through today, I can point to specific men who have poured into me as significant instruments of Gospel transformation in my life. I would not be who I am today without their influence.”

His decision to study Youth Ministry at Messiah College for his undergrad was motivated by a passion for God’s Word and it’s immediate impact in the lives of others. He served as a Youth Pastor in the Lancaster area from 2007-2012. Following that season, the Watkins were full time houseparents at the Milton Hershey School, where they helped raise 12 middle school girls. Most recently, he served as the Regional Representative for HOPE International, where he served for nearly 4 years. “I have seen the impact of men being either present or absent in the lives of families throughout my life. Whether in the church, secular or international settings, the call cannot be overstated enough.”

Justin and his beautiful bride, Jenna, live in Willow Street, PA with their son Jansen, daughter Jera, and another girl due in June. Justin is a Chicago sports guy, although he “trusts the process” with his season tickets to the Sixers. If he’s not coaching his kid’s soccer teams, he is playing basketball, getting to the gym or working on completing his MA in Biblical Studies at Evangelical Seminary. The Watkins call Willow Street Mennonite Church their home community of faith and are avid board gamers.
