A Practical Path for Men in Lancaster County
A lot of men know something needs to change, but they do not know where to begin.
They feel pressure in their faith, marriage, family, friendships, work, health, finances, and the responsibilities they carry every day. They want to become better men, but good intentions alone rarely lead to lasting change.
Men need direction. They need accountability. They need practical tools and other men who will challenge, encourage, and walk alongside them.
That is what Men of Iron has been building in Lancaster County for 20 years.
Through one-to-one mentorship, group-based discipleship, retreats, coaching, and local partnerships, we help men honestly evaluate their lives, identify where they need to grow, establish clear goals, and take meaningful action.
Where Men of Iron Began
From 20 Lancaster County men to a growing movement
Men of Iron officially began in 2006 at Victory Church in Lancaster County with just 20 men: 10 mentors and 10 protégés.
Those men committed to meeting face-to-face for accountability, balance, and spiritual growth. That original commitment became the foundation of Strong27 Mentorship and the mission Men of Iron continues pursuing today.
What started with 20 local men has grown into a ministry reaching men through mentorship, small groups, retreats, coaching, churches, businesses, digital resources, and regional partnerships.
Lancaster County remains the home of Men of Iron’s headquarters and the foundation from which we continue working to change a culture, one man at a time.
Meet the Local Iron Rep
Meet Lloyd Herr
Lancaster County Iron Rep
Lloyd Herr serves as the Men of Iron Lancaster County Iron Rep with a clear mission: build meaningful relationships with men and help them become the leaders God has called them to be.
Before joining Men of Iron, Lloyd spent more than 20 years as a registered nurse in emergency and operating room settings before transitioning into information technology supporting medical software. Those experiences taught him to listen carefully, remain steady in difficult situations, solve problems, and care for people during important moments in their lives.
Lloyd is passionate about helping men grow in their relationship with God because he believes that growth reaches far beyond the individual. It changes how a man leads his family, builds friendships, serves his church, approaches his work, and influences his community. Through Men of Iron, Lloyd helps men move toward greater purpose, healing, and spiritual maturity through trusted relationships, practical discipleship, and accountability.
Lloyd is also active in his church, where he preaches and teaches classes. He and his wife have been married for 18 years and have three sons. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, biking, reading, watching movies, coaching his boys, and supporting them in sports—especially lacrosse.
