Declare War

I know. I know. ⁣

It seems drastic, hyperbolic, and a little far-reaching, but… ⁣

Do you have passive days? Days when you shrink back from your potential. Times when you see your potential and shrug it off because it seems hard? Seasons that you regret? Opportunities to grow, and you passed because your head wasn’t in the right place? ⁣Me too.

Okay, men. Now I have your attention.

This is our story. All our stories have this as a common thread. ⁣

So let’s declare war on that old you… ⁣

+ War on those bad attitudes… ⁣

+ War on being passive… ⁣

+ War on treating women like toys… ⁣

+ War on excuses… ⁣

+ War on addictions… ⁣

+ War on blaming your wife because you have a hard time communicating… ⁣

+ War on being lazy… ⁣

+ War on being a dead-beat dad… ⁣

+ War on complaining because your kids demand your attention… ⁣

+ War on flying solo… ⁣

+ War on porn… ⁣

+ War on disengaging from your wife … ⁣

+ War on the person you used to be… ⁣

+ War on the e-v-e-r-y-t-h-I-n-g that hinders you… ⁣

Kit up.

Ephesians 6:12-18, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

It’s time to declare war.

Do something.

Dare greatly.

Be a better man.
