From Complacency to Greatness
We are talking a lot about marriage this week, and what it takes to have a healthy marriage. Ultimately it takes intentionality. In order to have a thriving marriage and be the man God you created to be it’s going to take action on your part. If you are going through a rough season right now in your marriage, in your career, in school – the only way out of that hard season is to take a step forward.
As men it’s easy for us to fall into the trap of complacency. We can get complacent with our marriage, fitness, faith, our responsibilities as a dad. But hear this, the calling on our lives to be godly men, to lead with intentionality, passion and excellence is a big one! Embrace this calling. Take it to heart. Through every flaw and failure, God calls us to a greater work. If you find yourself just going through the motions or feeling unmotivated, consider this your wake-up call. You were designed for greatness.
God has equipped you with more strength than you realize.
In Greek, the word for strength, ischyō, refers to facing the “necessary resistance” that brings about success as defined by God. It signifies the Lord empowering us to endure and achieve according to His purpose, supplying both faith and strength through His Spirit. From the beginning, Adam was tasked with tending and keeping the garden (Genesis 2:15). Today, we carry that same mandate, even in our fast-paced, tech-driven world. Like Adam and the heroes of faith (Hebrews 11), we are called to partner with God and lead with excellence.
You were made to persevere. You were made to overcome. You were made for more. Step into that today!
