On EP. 119 Garret dives into 2 Peter 1 as he talks about finding our identity in God. Men, if we are being honest we know that we struggle with finding our identity as husbands, fathers and leaders. We read in 2 Peter 1:3 that God’s divine power gives us EVERYTHING we need. So we have to make it a daily priority to pause and look vertically, to God. When we look vertically we begin to understand that God has given us all that we need for life and godliness. Our identity is in Him. We pray that this episode we challenge you to pause and look up!

  • If we look at verse 3 in 2 Peter 1 we see that God’s divine power gives us everything we need, EVERYTHING!
  • So we have to make it a daily priority to pause and look vertically, to God
  • When we look vertically:
    • We get identity
    • We get direction
    • We get assessment
  • When we look vertically we get wisdom from God
  • Remember, we are NOT in charge of this life that God has give us
  • We read in 2 Peter that God gives us:
    • His love and acceptance – that is part of our identity
    • He gives us forgiving grace
    • He gives us His constant presence
    • He gives us His power and promises
  • When we pause vertically and understand what God gives us, it is then that our heart is full and satisfied
  • When we live with a full heart we live with courage and hope
  • God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness
