Mrs. Frey’s friendship and love for Jesus led Debbie to Christ and ultimately her entire family. This story is a perfect example of the power of mentorship. - In today’s world, there are a lot of hopeless, bitter and angry people
- The things we consume do not help with this – tv, social media, etc.
- Where do you find your hope?
- One of the most powerful things we can do to bring hope is to tell really good stories
- Garret shares a story about Mrs. Frey
- Mrs. Frey was a spiritual mentor to Garret’s mom Debbie and led her to Jesus
- Mrs. Frey had this daily practice of being in the Word and writing out Scripture on note cards
- Debbie learned this practice from Mrs. Frey and implemented in her own life
- As Garret was growing up, he remembers daily seeing his mom in the kitchen reading her Bible and writing down scripture
- It was in that moment as Garret’s mom was sharing about Mrs. Frey, he realized the impact that Mrs. Frey had on his family’s journey
- This story is a perfect example of the power of mentorship
- Mrs. Frey would have never imagined the ripple effect that it caused in Debbie’s family
- Mrs. Frey’s investment as a mentor in Debbie’s life resulted in her husband and kids following Christ
- We never know the outcome of our investment into another man through mentorship
- Focus less on the crap and focus more on the hope that Jesus Christ brings
