The Men of Iron Minute

Trust is on Deck

As we anxiously await spring, we team with excitement about the possibilities of better weather and smoking ribs without a hat and gloves to curb the frigid winter. Spring will be here before we know it, and Major League Baseball will invite spectators to enjoy America’s pastime. Kids will soon be playing backyard ball mimicking Harper’s epic home runs or Turner’s ability to backhand an infield hit up the middle, but we must wait a bit longer. Winter is up to bat, and spring is on deck.

As men, we are prone to stagnate, wait and stir up anxiety about the next thing on the horizon. You may feel stuck, or perhaps you are in a season of transition. Wait doesn’t mean stagnate. Becoming a better dad, husband, or mentor/protégé won’t happen if you do nothing. As you wait on the Lord, trust develops, growth occurs, and you learn what you need while you stay on the path. “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14, NLT

God is not unpredictable like a fly ball in the wind.

God’s character is unchanging.

“Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.” Hosea 6:3, NLT

Dare greatly.

Live humbly.

Be a better man.
