Good Morning!
Let’s review 4 practical tips to be good stewards of God’s blessings:
- Define Finances – Each of us have different circumstances and situations. That’s why it’s important for each man to individually define what finances means to you. Here are a few buckets to consider…
-
- Work/Career Goals
-
- Stewardship/Budgeting
-
- Generosity/Tithing
-
- Spending
-
- Saving
-
- Investing
-
- Security
- Establish a budget – Create a plan and look at every aspect of your finances – income, fixed Expenses, variable expenses and even discretionary expenses.
- Establish a savings & generosity plan – Consider setting up automatic savings and giving through auto drafts.
- Consider 3 “Budgets” – Emergency fund (highly liquid), target purchases (short-term liquidity), Future (illiquid). There are different philosophies and strategies, so we recommend you meet with a trusted, faith-based financial planner or advisor to figure this out.
Jesus spoke a lot about money because we can’t love and serve others when our focus is on the accumulation of money or assets. It’s selfish, and Jesus calls us to be selfless. The attitude we have toward finances and the way we manage it shows the condition of our heart.
So, what’s the condition of your heart? Are you stewarding this area of your life well? Or have you lost focus?
Session 5 is done, men. What are your 2-3 FINANCES goals/action steps? Share them with your mentor, protégé, micro group or small group. If you’re flying solo on this challenge, then be sure to post them on A Men of Iron Community on Facebook.
Thank you for joining us for A Man’s Gameplan! We would be so grateful if you could take 3 1/2 minutes to complete the Challenge Survey! Scroll down for the survey.
With Gratitude,
