The Men of Iron Minute

Be Where Your Feet Are

As we begin the week, let’s settle into this truth, “Be Where Your Feet Are.” I heard a football player say this after an emotional win. It stopped me in my tracks. The moment was surreal and inspired this Men of Iron Minute. Here are a few selected passages to meditate on this week.

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”Psalm 118:24

During life’s hustle, this verse from Psalms reminds us of the sacredness of each day. It calls upon men to find joy and purpose in the very day they stand, urging them to embrace the present moment as a gift and responsibility. In the mundane and the Mondays, God has our feet planted for a reason.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”Matthew 6:34

Matthew’s words are a moving reminder to focus on the here and now. It encourages men to release the grip of anxiety about the future and to instead concentrate on living fully in the present, trusting in God’s provision for each moment.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”Psalm 46:10a

This verse offers a profound invitation to stillness (see last week’s MOI Minutes to incorporate prayer into this space)—a crucial aspect of being present. It urges men to quiet the noise around them, to be present with God, and to find solace and strength in the assurance of His sovereignty.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”Colossians 3:23

Colossians emphasizes the importance of mindfulness in action. It encourages men to infuse their present tasks and endeavors with passion and dedication, recognizing that their efforts are not solely for worldly gains but also as an offering to God.

May this blog breathe life into today with intertwining faith, scripture, and the beauty of living wholeheartedly in the present moment. When you are present in the moment, you can stop and realize the influence you have. More on that as the week progresses.
