Do It All For the Glory of God

The second part of 1 Corinthians 10:31 states, “… do it all for the glory of God”. So how do we include fitness to into glorifying God?

Shift the focus of fitness from me centered, to God centered.

The first step is being intentional with prayer. It may sound dumb, but if you are just getting started, honestly pray to God that He would direct your fitness goals as a way to honor him. Or, if you go to the gym or go on a walk, pray that God would either speak to you during that time, or put you in contact with someone you can meet that day, who might need an encouraging word. Take those extra 5 minutes to talk with someone at the gym or in your rec league. It will be worth it, I promise.

Right now, I lead a Bible study where ten of the guys I either played sports with in high school, lift with at the gym, or play in rec leagues with. Just be attentive to what is going on around you.

Jesus always made people feel seen and valued.

Be that to some person in your fitness walk today.
