In today’s episode of “The Restoration Series,” Steve interviews Chad, who opens up about his journey through feelings of failure as a husband, father, and provider. He was raised in a home where faith was at the center, thanks to his mom, but after leaving home would be faced with significant trials that put his faith to the test.
After high school Chad left home, away from family and friends, where he deepened his relationship with God and gained a clearer understanding of himself. During an Easter break, he felt God prompting him to stay at school, which led to a job opportunity in Los Angeles that shaped his career. After marrying his wife, Amy, the couple moved to Atlanta to pursue freelance work, but they eventually returned to Pennsylvania in 2020, just as the pandemic hit. With job prospects dwindling, Chad experienced deep anger and frustration with God.
“As a father I felt so pathetic and useless, I couldn’t provide for my family. I was bitter and angry towards God.”
However, the support of friends and co-workers helped him find healing and restore his faith. Chad shares about the power of mentorship, which can begin with a simple conversation, his faith foundation has been a guiding force throughout his life. His hope is to leave a legacy as a man who put Jesus, his wife, and his children above all else. Chad’s story is a testament to God’s ongoing work of restoration.
