In this episode of The Restoration Series, Colton returns to the podcast as we sit down with Roman, who shares his journey of restoration. Growing up in a Christian family, Roman seemed to have it all together on the outside—great family, successful in sports, popular, and doing well in school. It was during his junior year of high school that Roman started chasing after the wrong things. A relationship with a girlfriend resulted in a pregnancy and ultimately leading to a regretful decision. The pain of this decision led Roman to carry deep shame, depression, and guilt for years and caused him to harm himself.
Thanks to a prayer warrior of a mom and a loving father, Roman’s journey of restoration and healing would begin. His mom discovered what had happened, and his parents met him with grace and love instead of anger—mirroring the grace of God. “I told my parents about everything that had happened, it was such a weight off my shoulders.”
Around this time Roman also found a mentor in his coach, they started meeting weekly and doing life together. Roman’s faith and relationship with God starting growing exponentially. Through his restoration story, Roman now has a heart for mentoring young men, helping them avoid the same mistakes and experience the love and grace of God.
This 5-part series gives us a glimpse into the lives of 5 different men and their stories of restoration. Stay tuned for the another story of restoration next week!
