God Will Be There

 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

This beautifully stunning passage elicits faith and action. Men, Jesus encourages us to come to Him with our needs, search for Him with all our hearts, and persist in our requests. He promises that those who ask will receive, those who seek will find, and those who knock will have the door opened to them. This is an invitation to trust in God’s goodness and confidence in His willingness to provide for our needs. We don’t have to hide our lack of understanding or posture to hide our confusion. The mysteries of fatherhood are within the Father’s love. The questions of worth or worthiness are answered within the Godhead. The mulling over of trauma is healed by the blood of Jesus and the Spirit’s work. Jesus opened the gates of grace wide enough for all your cares, doubts, and hang-ups.

Ask, seek, and knock. Simple. Profound. Powerful.

Just do it. Not Nike’s slogan. A slogan of pleading grace.

Just do it. Ask, seek, and knock.
