The Men of Iron Minute

Am I Honoring God at Work?

You’re watching the opening ceremony for the Olympics and all the athletes are parading into the center of the arena. Each one is covered from head to toe in their country’s branded athletic wear. Each country’s colors and flags adorn their outfits. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot a guy who is all dressed in grey with no country represented. You know he must be there representing someone because he wouldn’t be on the field, but you aren’t exactly sure who that is based on what you can see.

Unfortunately, so many Christian men drift through their work life without any evidence of their faith.

We have this weird tendency to only bring our faith into play when we’re around other Christians – from my experience, anyway.

James says that “Faith without works is dead.” What does that mean? Well, if your faith is not evident through the actions of your life, you should do some reevaluating of your life priorities. This does not mean that every single thing you do or say should be all about God but there also shouldn’t be this grey outfit covering who you represent. You can make simple adjustments to better reflect your faith at work. For instance, pray for guidance on how to genuinely care for your coworkers in a way that brings glory to God.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV
