Mentorship Through Hard Times
This week we tackle another tough question, Is it Okay to be Angry at God? – check out the conversation on the Men of Iron Podcast this week!
We preach this a lot here at Men of Iron, “You can’t do life alone.” That phrase rings even louder when we are going through a difficult season. As men it feels natural for us to bottle our feelings up and try to bury them deep down where no one will find them.
Several years ago a protege of mine, Josh, was going through a hard time. He was dealing with loss and struggling with addiction, he was mad at God, mad at the world. He was on the verge of a relapse, trying to numb the pain. He called me in the middle of the night and needed my help. My advice in the moment was to flush the drugs down the toilet, and he did just that.
Remember men, you can’t do life alone. It’s impossible.
Josh had a history of addiction in his family and in his own life. But thanks to a timely mentorship and the power of God to break addictions, Josh put those addictions in the past.
My encouragement to you today is to see God in the good or bad. It’s okay to be angry with God, voice your frustrations to Him, turn to Him. Surround yourself with those who push you closer to Him, knowing that He has been faithful in the past and will remain so in the future.
