What is influence? Influence is the power or ability to change or affect someone or something. Last week we talked about influence realized, and today we talk about influence specialized. Ask yourself the question, what area am I specifically gifted in to be an influence on others? How has God divinely designed me? You are specially made, specially created to have influence in this world. Use your gifts, talents and abilities to sharpen those around you. When a man realizes he can be a specialized influence to the circle around him, cultures begin to change.

  • We are influenced on a daily basis by culture, media, athletes and celebrities, people we interact with, etc.

  • Last week we talked about how each of us are influencers to a specific circle of people
  • This week I want to talk about influence specialized
  • Ask yourself the question, what area am I specifically gifted in to be an influence on others?
  • How has God divinely designed me?
  • “Every seed has the ability to produce more of what’s inside of it.” – John Maxwell
  • What is inside of us that we are suppose to use for influence for God’s Kingdom?
  • You are specially made, specially created to have influence in this world
  • When you operate in your giftedness, you can be intentional with your influence
  • For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” – Psalm 139:13-16
  • How has God specifically created you? What is your special influence?
  • God created us specifically to influence to people closest to us
  • God created us for others, He made us special for the people that are around us
  • “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11 
  • Use your gifts, talents and abilities to sharpen each other
  • This is why mentorship is so important in today’s culture
  • When a man realizes he can be a specialized influence to the circle around him, cultures begin to change
  • Today’s challenge: take some time this week, read those scriptures through again (Psalm 139: 13-16, Jeremiah 29:11 ) and think about who God has created you to be and how you can influence those around you
