The Battle for Man – Part Five

by Garret Barbush | President & CEO

In the journey of manhood, the enemy is constantly working to devour your faith, family, friends, fitness, and finances. He would rather lull you into a life of mediocrity than see you shine light into a dark world. He would love nothing more than for you to live an imbalanced, ineffective life.

You’re not about to let your life go to waste, so it’s time to take action. You must link arms with a brother in Christ and embrace the mentorship journey. Iron sharpens iron.

Proverbs 27:17 – “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Iron forging produces weapons for war. This process involves fire, friction and pressure. It’s not pretty and it’s not easy, but it results in a strong weapon ready to attack and defend. The same is true of mentorships. It requires serious determination and energy. It generates moments of heat and friction, challenge and conviction. That means it’s working. This is what happens when another man helps keep you focused, accountable, and disciplined. Mentorship pulls us away from our natural inclination to drift aimlessly and toward a place of balance, consistency, and intentionality. Only then will we be positioned to effectively attack and defend with leadership and strength.

A man capable of attacking and defending with leadership and strength seeks accountability, strives for balance, and desires spiritual growth. Accountability, balance, and spiritual growth are developed most effectively through mentorships.

Pick a Fight! Where and how do you need accountability? What’s out of balance with your faith, family, friends, fitness and finances? How do you desire to experience spiritual growth? Answer these questions and share them with a mentor.
