What Is My Purpose Here? 

I remember a time several years ago when I went through a type of identity crisis. I felt like I didn’t understand God’s purpose for my life. I was working in a non-Christian workplace and felt so out of place. I thought God had something in mind for me, but I didn’t understand what or where that would be.

I tried to let my light shine around the office, but I felt like I never saw any positive results.

After a period of time God started to reveal His purpose little by little.

Like an onion, peeling back its layers. He eventually led me to another organization, and I was able to focus on being a better Christian at my new workplace.

Out of nowhere, a few years later, one of the guys from my former employer reached out to me and asked if I could grab a coffee with him. I agreed and when we met, he proceeded to tell me all about the issues he was having in his marriage. We dug into his spiritual life and focused on the changes that would impact him and his marriage the most. He ended up giving his heart to Jesus and in His faithfulness, God restored his marriage. 

The main point I want to make is that sometimes we think we must have some elaborate calling or see exactly what God is doing in our lives. Through my experience, I want to encourage you and say don’t sweat what God hasn’t revealed to you yet!

Instead, be the light where you are planted wherever you may be, because you never know how God is going to use you.
