The Men of Iron Minute

What Is Your Greatest Achievement?
We sat down with Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion wreslter Kyle Snyder this week we on the Men of Iron Podcast (Watch Episode 262 here!) Kyle is an accomplished wrestler to say the least. In fact few athletes have accomplished what Kyle Snyder has done on the wrestling mat. From becoming the youngest U.S. Olympic gold medalist and world champion to a three-time NCAA champion, Snyder has won on every stage of competition.
Yet as he shares his story he talks passionately about his relationship with Jesus, not about his wrestling accolades.
“The first thing God showed me was that the most important thing about me was that I am His, not that I can win wrestling matches.”
That revelation allowed Kyle to actually compete to the potential that God had given him for the first time in his life. When someone asks you what you’ve achieved in life, what do you say? If you’re like me, I quickly think about college degrees, jobs, awards, and if I get desperate, the one time I won MVP at a summer basketball camp. I wonder what Jesus thinks about my so-called “accomplishments?”
Like Kyle, it wasn’t until I surrendered my life to Jesus that I fully started living out my potential as a child of God. So the next time someone asks you your list of achievements – point them to Jesus.
