David Brownlee - Board Member

David Brownlee is the recently retired founder and President of Mission Accelerate – an organization providing consulting to Christian non-profit organizations on fundraising, strategic planning, leader and team development and other areas.  He continues in his role as a consultant to a handful of clients through his own consulting company.  His prior career roles were largely spent in the for-profit sector, principally in the financial and investment management arenas.
David and his wife Debbie divide their time between St. Petersburg Florida and Asheville North Carolina where they enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking and pickleball.

Why join the Men of Iron Board? “Men are called to mentorship, to share Biblical wisdom gained from life experiences, both positive and negative, with younger men. Making these connections is often awkward and therefore avoided.  MOI provides the needed framework and model through which mentorship can begin and thrive. I have been privileged in my life to learn and grow from others, and then share that with those God has blessed me to mentor. I am grateful for this calling on my life and the privilege to serve MOI and the work the Lord is doing in and through this great organization.”

An interesting fact about David: “I lost both parents in my mid-30s. Both were great athletes and active. God used that in my life to quit with some bad health habits and start healthy ones. I became a runner/triathlete and found joy in running, competing and good health. I have completed several marathons, including the Boston Marathon and continue to enjoy running to this day.”
