Good Morning!

Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. In order for that to happen, each man needs to TAKE OWNERSHIP

Our bodies are a personal dwelling placeWe need to take care of them. We need to TAKE OWNERSHIP.

If you want to take ownership, then follow these principles…

  • Be Intentional – write out a plan for your fitness goals and nutrition. Put your workouts on your calendar. Put the plan on paper and share it with someone.

  • Get Out of Your Comfort Zone – you’re going be uncomfortableSuck it up. Move your body, try different exercises, try new foods, drink water only, quit drinking soda and other sugary drinks (Yes, even diet soda), quit smoking, cut alcohol, etc. For any sort of growth to happen in this area, you will have to get comfortable being uncomfortable

  • Act! – execute the plan. New Year’s resolutions don’t cut it. You need to actually do it. Be a man and follow-through.

If you don’t know where to start, then following these basic fitness and health tips…

  • Break fitness into 4 categories – Exercise, diet, rest and mental/intellectual
  • Don’t expect to always want to work out
  • Cut sugary drinks and consume water only
  • Eat clean
  • Have a plan for aerobic and anaerobic exercise
  • Combine fitness goals with other F’s – 5F Combos

Session 4 is done, men. What are your 2-3 FITNESS goals/action steps? Share them with your mentor, protégé, micro group or small group. If you’re flying solo on this challenge, then be sure to post them on A Men of Iron Community on Facebook.
