How Will You Be Remembered?
Let’s talk BBQ. I know. I know. Your BBQ is best. Some men have stronger opinions about their BBQ than their theology, so I will tread lightly. All I know about BBQ is that I like it-a lot. I found my favorite BBQ spot on a family trip to Memphis. My wife found a legendary place, Charlie Vergos Rendezvous, tucked away in an alley, and my taste buds have been wrecked ever since. My wife called the Rendezvous “a man’s restaurant,” so how could I not be intrigued. After listening to some blues music, we had a feast of smoked meat! Memphis is well known for its BBQ, Elvis Presley, and an epicenter of blues music. It’s a family favorite.
Cities are usually known for something.
- New York never sleeps.
- Philadelphia is blue-collar.
- Las Vegas has its secrets.
- New Orleans for its cuisine.
- Orlando is the place to play.
- Memphis is known for BBQ.
The man we become informs how we will be remembered.
Now let’s pursue greatness.
Let’s talk legacy:
Pursue God more than your legacy.
Share what you learn from your walk with God.
Serve and don’t wait to be served.
Create a home that allows for dreaming.
Date your wife. Regularly.
Get input from other men.
Just one more thing.
By the way, Memphis has the best BBQ. Period.
