Take Action| EP. 131

“We are ineffective unless we are pursuing God’s presence.” // Garret Barbush

  • Last few weeks we have been focused in on changing culture with courage
  • How do we as men take part in restoring masculinity in this world that we are living in today
  • Today we are going to focus on this final piece, and that is ACTION
  • This is NOT about doing more
  • How did Moses live out masculinity?
  • How do we act as men and restore masculinity
    • #1 – Write out a plan – before we can live out what God has for us we need a plan
    • #2 – Be willing to embrace God’s audibles
    • #3 – Pursue God’s presence
  • “Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.” Exodus 17:14
  • Moses was instructed by God to write out a plan on a scroll
  • We have to be willing to be obedient to God’s audibles
  •  “When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud. To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain. Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.” Exodus 24:15-18
  • Moses was up there 6 days before God showed up, he was pursuing God’s presence
  • If we are not disciplined in pursuing God and his presence, we will not have the strength to sustain
  • You cannot do it on your own strength
  • We are ineffective unless we are pursuing God’s presence
  • Make sure your actions are glorifying to God
