The Men of Iron Minute

The Line is Short

In a world where the line of average men stretches as far as the eye can see, and the line of lazy men is predictably stagnant and ever-increasing, a unique opportunity awaits men who dare to step forward. The line to become a good man is short; they actively seek volunteers. Are you ready to join the ranks of those who aspire to greatness in their faith, family, friends fitness and finances?

The road to becoming a good man is not easy, but it’s a journey worth embarking on. In a society that often celebrates victim mentality and mediocrity, seeing you seeking goodness, character, and integrity moving forward in men like you is refreshing. Here are a few things you should expect when volunteering for the good man journey.

  1. Be Intentional: Becoming a good man is a deliberate choice. Living purposefully and aligning your actions with your Christian beliefs requires a conscious effort. In more theological terms, it is aligning orthodoxy and orthopraxy. Delivering choices aligning with your beliefs and values means choosing kindness over cruelty, love over indifference, and service over selfishness.
  2. Be Accountable: Good men hold themselves accountable for their actions. They take responsibility for their mistakes, learn from them, and strive to improve. They understand that their faith calls them to a higher standard and don’t shy away from it. We have been reinforcing this principle all month. You can check out MOI Minutes and MOI podcasts for a jump start.
  3. Be a Leader: Leadership isn’t about being in charge; it’s about serving others. Good men lead by example, exhibiting humility, empathy, and a willingness to listen. They are leaders in their families, communities, and churches, offering guidance and support to those in need. The key to leading others is first to take accountability and lead yourself.
  4. Be Faithful: Faith is the foundation of a good man’s life. He trusts in the Lord’s guidance and wisdom. He seeks to deepen his relationship with God through prayer, study, and reflection.
  5. Be Compassionate: Compassion is a hallmark of a good man. He extends a helping hand to those in distress, showing love, empathy, and kindness to all, just as Christ did.

The world may be filled with men content to remain average or stuck in the rut of laziness, but as Christians, we are called to stand out. We are called to rise above the crowd, take our place in the short line of those willing to become good men and lead by example.

The world needs more good men, and the time to step forward and make a difference is now. Will you be one of the volunteers who embrace the journey to become a good man?
